Super Auction was born out of a simple frustration shared by millions of IPL fans: why isn't there a high-quality, real-time auction simulator that friends can play together? Every IPL season, cricket fans around the world watch the auction with intense excitement, debating picks, questioning strategies, and believing they could do better than the franchise owners. We built Super Auction to give every fan that opportunity.
Unlike fantasy cricket apps that focus on match prediction, Super Auction focuses on the auction itself, the most thrilling phase of the IPL calendar. It recreates the high-stakes decision-making of managing a franchise budget, scouting players across roles and specializations, and competing against friends in real time for the best available talent in the player pool.

We built this platform using cutting-edge real-time technology to make the experience as close to the real IPL auction as possible. Super Auction is powered by React and TypeScript for a fast, responsive frontend, Firebase Firestore for millisecond-latency real-time data synchronization across all participants, and Firebase Anonymous Authentication for frictionless access without requiring email signups or personal data.
The AI Advisor integrates advanced player analysis algorithms that evaluate historical IPL data spanning over 15 seasons, factoring in metrics like batting strike rates, bowling economy, death-over performance, powerplay impact, and venue-specific statistics. This data-driven approach provides genuinely useful recommendations rather than generic advice.
Super Auction is a passion project created and maintained by Dinesh Murugan P, a web developer and cricket enthusiast based in India. What started as a personal side project during the 2024 IPL season has grown into a fully-featured auction simulator used by cricket fans across the country. The entire platform, from the brutalist UI design to the real-time bidding engine to the AI scouting system, is the work of a single developer committed to delivering the best possible auction experience.
